Microsoft Management Summit 2011 summary

A week full of the Microsoft Management Summit in Las Vegas learned me that this is the event of the year to attend for people that work daily with products from the System Center Suite. This is the only event in the world where the most engineers and product/program managers are together and available to answer your questions and to give feedback to about the System Center products. More than 4000 people from all over the world attended more than 157 technical System Center related sessions presented by Microsoft, MVP’s or partners of Microsoft. During the 2 Keynotes this week some nice announcements were made about the future of the System Center products.
The year 2011 is going to be a very big year for the System Center teams. Almost all the product groups will release a new version of their product. The following new products are released in the second half of the year 2011:

  • System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2012
  • System Center Service Manager (SCSM) 2012
  • System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) 2012
  • System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) 2012
  • System Center Forefront Endpoint Protection (SCFEP) 2012
  • System Center Orchestrator (SCO) (Opalis)
  • System Center Data Projection Manager (SCDPM) 2012
  • Windows Intune

The 2012 wave is going to be big, for almost every product is undergoing a big change. A big challenge for the teams!

The System Center Suite fits perfectly in the vision of Microsoft to empower everybody by the Public and/or Private Cloud. The System Center Suite is the center of this vision and enables for instance Datacenter Automation with SCCM, SCO, SCVVM and SCSM. With SCOM, FEP and DPM you are able to manage, protect and secure the Public and Private Cloud.
