Hey, that’s cool!!! Today the Configuration Manager Servicing Extension beta has been released, the what? Yeah the Configuration Manager Servicing Extension beta 😉 The Configuration Manager 2012 Servicing Extension provides useful information for maintaining your Configuration Manager environment.
By installing the Servicing Extensions a Site Servicing node in the Administration workspace is added which provides you the following capabilities:
It notifies you of Configuration Manager updates as they become available, with the ability to filter updates according to which major release they apply to, like shown below:
It provides details on the sites in your environment, including the last major Configuration Manager version installed and the most recently installed Cumulative Update, like shown below:
It provides a list of Configuration Manager client versions that may be present in your environment, and makes it easy to create queries to locate these clients, like shown below;
With Client Targeting you are able to create Queries of selecting all clients with or above a specific version or with a version at or below a specific version.
It provides a built-in RSS reader to display recent blog postings from the System Center Configuration Manager Team Blog and The Configuration Manager Support Team Blog, like shown below. Would be nice to see community resources also 😉
